Events coutesy of Everything Exmoor

Lynton and Lynmouth are a great base for a holiday.  You can be as active or as relaxed as you wish.  We are situated within Exmoor yet have easy access to the busy town of Barmstaple.  There are beatiful sandy beaches to be enjoyed at Woolacombe and Ilfracombe as well as Minehead.

For the younger members of the family (or should that be for the big kid in you!) there is the Milky Way and The Big Sheep both based towards Bideford and the charming Watermouth Castle which is based at Combe Martin.

Within our villages we have the famous Cliff Railway.  This year will be their 126th year in operation..  We also have the Lyn Exmoor Museum and the dramatic and beautiful Valley of the Rocks.  There are boat trips run from the Harbour and famous walks start on our door step.

This year the New Pavillion Centre  in Lynmouth will again be holding talks and events throught the year.  In addition the Plough Arts Theatre are planning some more performances in Lynton and Lynmouth.  The Town Hall is proving to be a great venue for Comedy so do look for details.

In August every year Lynmouth Church hosts its glorious Flower Festival which always takes place around the week of the 15th August to comemorate the Lynmouth Flood of 1952.  This year will see a new Exhibition in the Church and we will be holding a special 65th Anniversary Service in August.  August also sees the Annual Raft Race.  This is a great excuse for laughter, food and being covered in flour!  October sees the Exmoor Food Fest when you have the opportunity to try lots of locally produced items such as jams, sausages, cakes and drinsks and specially prepared meals with local fresh ingredients.

If you are looking for a holiday to bring the family back together and enjoy old fashioned pleasures such as horse riding and coastal walks then there is no where better than Lynton and Lynmouth and of course Lorna Doone House!

You can also get involved in some more exhilarating out door pursuits like canoeing and rock climbing.  Try this link for details of a Local Company with Expert Trainers http://www.westsomersetadventures.co.uk/
