Lorna Doone House is ideally situated within the village. Situated by the river in Tors Road you will find a relaxing and quiet location yet just 5 minutes from the main part of the village with shops and restaurants and bars. We are right at the start of the walk to Watersmeet which is one of the most famous walks in the area.

History & romance

Lynmouth is steeped in history and romance. Tarka the Otter was written about this area and the famous fictional story of Lorna Doone was set in and around this area. The Poet Shelley visited here and Lynmouth was a favourite location for the Victorians.

The village of Lynmouth is situated on the edge of Exmoor and close to the Devon and Somerset Border.

From J25 on the M5 take the A39 to Minehead and Porlock and then carry on over the top of the Moors straight down into Lynmouth. Turn first left into Tors Road at the bottom of Countisbury hill.
