Lynmouth Raft Race

 

Date: Summer

Locals with no boat building or sailing knowledge take to the waves in rafts they constructed at home; what could possibly go wrong? The challenge for the crews is to get around the buoy and be the first back under the bridge – not all will make it! If they do, they are likely to be pelted with the bags of flour that are available to buy. Awards are presented for; the first raft to finish, the best constructed raft, the best dressed raft, the highest sponsored raft/crew, and a booby prize for the first to sink (Nobody wants this). This is another event brought to you by Lynmouth Sailing Club.
