Lorna Doone House is situated close to the East Lyn River in Lynmouth and is just a 5 minute stroll to the heart of the village and the harbour. We are open all the way through from February to end of November.

At Lorna Doone House you will find friendly attentive service and we're here to help you enjoy your stay in beautiful North Devon. We make a great base for walking with many walks starting and ending right at our door !

We have six en-suite bedrooms set over two floors, a guest lounge, a dining room and our own private car park. We are ideal for a large family gathering or for a group of friends who would like the house to themselves. We are in a great sunny spot alongside the river Lyn, just right for relaxing.

First floor double, side river view room with en-suite shower. Comfortable, well-appointed and ideal if you are out and about all day.
Room includes TV/DVD, high speed Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities as well as mineral water, plus complimentary toiletries.
Room 3

First floor super king size, river view room with en-suite bathroom complete bath and shower over. This large dual aspect room is situated at the front of the house with stunning river views. The gentle sound of the River Lyn, outside, can often lull you to sleep.
Room includes TV, high speed Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities as well as mineral water, plus complimentary toiletries.

Room 4

First floor double has a four-poster bed, for that romantic break, a river view and a large en-suite shower room. This room is situated at the front of the house with a stunning view of the River Lyn. The restful sound of the river calms the senses.

Room 7

Second floor, small walkers’ room with double bed and en-suite shower room, overlooking the rear of the building. This is a small double/single with sloping ceilings and would be ideal for overnight or short stays.

Food & Beverages
At Lorna Doone we appreciate the importance of good food. We are fully licenced and have a wide selection of drinks available. We want you to enjoy your time with us and we try to ensure we only use local sourced ingredients.

BREAKFAST
Served from 8.00am

Breakfast is usually served at 8.30am, unless we have more than 6 guests in the house when breakfast will be served in two sittings; one at 8.00am for the early risers and the second at 8.45am for those wishing a more leisurely start to the day. A good breakfast is a really important start for the day. We have on offer a range of cereals, fresh fruits and juices followed by the traditional English breakfast as well as vegetarian options. Breakfast is served at a leisurely pace and starts at a leisurely hour as we want you to start the day with time to relax in our beautiful area. If you do need to make an early start please let us know and where possible we will organise an early breakfast for you .

EVENING DINING SERVICE
Served from 6.30 pm

Dinner is available for any guest who want to pre-book an evening meal, especially useful for late arrivals. If you would like dinner at a different time or if you have any specific requests please give us a call as our evening menus frequently change.

OUT FOR THE DAY?
With notice we can provide you with a delicious packed lunch and will be happy to discuss your requirements.

AFTERNOON TEA
Served from 2.00 to 4.30 pm
Please pre-book for a delicious afternoon tea, including scones, jam and clotted cream and to make it extra special, why not include a glass of bubbles.

If there's one thing that we know how to do well here in Lynton and Lynmouth, its eat!

With a huge choice of cuisines and styles to suit everyone, Lynton and Lynmouth and the surrounding area is packed full of cafes, restaurants, and eateries, many of which are within walking distance from Lorna Doone House.

From award winning Fish and Chips at the Esplanade Fish Bar, to contemporary French Dining at 7theBistro, good food is easy to find in Lynmouth. The first six entries in our list are all within a 5 minute walk from here, then its up the hill and into Lynton! And if you're prepared to travel a bit further afield, there are some wonderful eating experiences awaiting you.

Whilst most people want to be out and about enjoying our beautiful area there are times when you may need to check in with the "real" world and catch up on your emails or work or even just surf the net for pleasure.

Parking comes at a premium at any tourist destination, so our car park which is free to our guests is a bonus.
